Playing a musical instrument is another way to have fun reading! I was reminded of this when I went to a music hub concert last night to watch my number 3 son play a couple of instruments. I was sitting in the audience waiting for the event to begin and could hear people whispering “That looks like our patron”. I looked up to see four students from Beacon View Primary Academy (where I am a Patron of Reading) waiting to play their ukulele(s). It was lovely to be able to chat to them about having fun reading in a different way, and to meet the adults who had brought them to the concert. Well done to all the students who took part in the concert last night – it takes a lot of nerve to perform in front of an audience of more than 60 people!
